In today's Gospel we learn about how Jesus appeared to the apostles after his Resurrection and breathed onto them the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the power to forgive sins in others.
Father in Heaven we praise and glorify you. We thank you for bringing us together for this children's liturgy lesson. Thank you for sending us the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Help us to say yes to Jesus and use these gifts to bring words and signs of peace to other members of our friends and family. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
The disciples were hiding in a room because they were scared. Suddenly, Jesus appeared and said, “Peace be with you.” He showed them His hands and side, and they were so happy because He was alive! Jesus told them, “I am sending you to help others.” Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” He also told them to forgive people.
