In today's Gospel we learn about Jesus's triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Many people celebrated because they thought Jesus was a King that was going to save them and overtake the Romans. When they realize that Jesus was a different kind of king, they could not accept it, and so they sent him to be crucified.
Father in Heaven we praise and glorify you. We thank you for laying down your life for us. We thank you for your unconditional love. Thank you for thinking of each and every one of us when you were suffering on the cross (despite us not even being in existence yet). Help us to be like you and be able to make sacrifices for our loved ones when they need our support. in doing so, help us to find peace and joy even in the midst of hardship. We ask this in Jesus's name. Amen.
One day, Jesus was going to a big, important city called Jerusalem. Lots of people were there because a special celebration was coming.
Jesus did not ride a big horse like a king. Instead, He rode on a small donkey. This showed that Jesus was a kind and peaceful king.
As Jesus came into the city, the people were very excited to see Him. They remembered the loving things He had done: helping people, teaching about God, and showing kindness.
The people picked palm branches from the trees and laid them on the road. They also spread their cloaks on the ground to make a special path for Jesus.
Everyone shouted happily,
“Hosanna!”
That means, “God, please help us!”
They also said,
“Blessed is the one who comes in God’s name!”
The city was full of joy and noise. People waved their palm branches and welcomed Jesus as their King. Jesus knew that some hard days were coming, but He still rode forward with love and courage, trusting God.
Palm Sunday reminds us that Jesus came to bring peace, love, and hope to everyone.

Hallowed be Your name
