In today's Gospel we hear the story about John the Baptist, and how upon approaching, he announced Jesus as the lamb of God.
Come Holy Spirit, fill our hearts and our minds. Fill us with your peace, love, and understanding. Help us to hear God's message today and recognize His voice in our daily activities. Amen
One day, John the Baptist was standing by the river where he often taught people about God. John was baptizing people and helping them get ready in their hearts to meet the Savior God had promised.
The next morning, John looked up and saw Jesus coming toward him. Right away, John got excited and pointed to Jesus. He said:
“Look! There is the Lamb of God!
He is the one who takes away the sins of the world!”
John wanted everyone to know that Jesus was very special. He told the crowd:
“I’ve been telling you that someone greater than me was coming. Jesus is that person! God sent me to baptize people with water, but God also told me that I would recognize His Son when I saw the Holy Spirit come down like a dove and stay with Him.”
And that’s exactly what happened!
John explained:
“When I baptized Jesus, I saw the Spirit come down from heaven like a dove and rest on Him. That’s how I knew for sure that Jesus is the Son of God.”
The people listened carefully. They began to understand that Jesus wasn’t just another teacher—He was the One God had promised for a long, long time.

A: I can also forgive others when they make me upset, just like Jesus did.

Father in heaven, for the sake of bringing others closer to you, we give you today, all that we think and do and say, and we join it with all that was done by Jesus Christ, your Son. Amen
