In today's Gospel, we learn about how Jesus heals 10 Lepers and only one Leper comes back to thank Him. That one leper not only gained his health, but he gained eternal salvation too.
Father in heaven we praise and glorify you. We thank you for bringing us together for this Children's Liturgy lesson. Please fill our hearts with peace, love and wisdom. Help us to understand the lesson you have for us today. Help us to remember to be grateful to you for the gifts you have given us. We ask this all in the name of Jesus. Amen.
One day, as Jesus was walking to Jerusalem, He met ten men who were very sick. They had a skin disease called leprosy that made them stay far away from other people.
The ten men stood at a distance and called out, “Jesus, Master, please help us!”
Jesus said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.”
As they walked away, they looked down and saw — their skin was healed! They were healthy again!
But only one man turned around, ran back to Jesus, and said, “Thank you, Jesus!” He knelt down and praised God.
Jesus said, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Only one came back to thank me.”
Then He told the man, “Your faith has saved you.”

After Getting Help
When a teacher helps you tie your shoe or clean up your spill, you stop and say, “Thank you!”
Lesson: Like the one thankful man, we can show gratitude for even small acts of kindness.
After Getting a Gift
You receive a birthday gift or a surprise treat from a family member. Instead of just running off to play, you take time to hug them or write a thank-you note.
Lesson: Saying thank you shows that we notice love and kindness, just like the healed man noticed what Jesus did for him.
When Feeling Better
You’re sick, and your family prays for you. When you get well, you say, “Thank you, God, for helping me feel better!”
Lesson: We should thank God not only when we ask for help, but when He answers our prayers.
At Meal Time
Before eating, you pray: “Thank You, God, for this food and for the people who made it.”
Lesson: Just like the man who returned to thank Jesus, we can remember to thank God for His daily blessings.
In Everyday Blessings
When it’s sunny and you can play outside, or you get to spend time with friends, you say quietly in your heart, “Thank You, God.”
Lesson: Gratitude isn’t just for big miracles — it’s for everyday moments too.
