Membership Trial

Sophia offers a free trial for learners to try any of our courses. The trial allows you to complete the first Challenge (i.e., quiz) of any course. Once the first Challenge has been completed, you are able to continue the course by becoming a member via any one of our subscription offerings.

To start a free trial, navigate to the course you are interested in, and select 'Try this Course.'

Membership Pricing

Sophia offers three different subscription plans:

  • 1-month membership for $99
  • 4-month membership for $299
  • 12-month membership for $599

Membership Renewal

Your membership will automatically renew at the end of the membership period for the same duration as originally selected (1-month, 4-month, or 12-month) until you decide to cancel or upgrade your membership.

What’s Included in Your Membership

With your Sophia membership, you can take as many courses as you want, up to two at a time, at a pace that works with your schedule. You do not pay any additional cost for individual courses, and there is no time commitment to complete a course.

Additionally, there are no course registration fees or additional fees for material, textbooks or eBooks. Everything is included as part of your membership.

Payment Methods

Sophia memberships can be purchased with a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

Membership Upgrade

To upgrade your 1-month or 4-month Subscription Membership from your Sophia account: (1) go to “Profile”, (2) click “Change” under “Membership”, and (3) select the plan you’d like to upgrade to.

Any remaining days in your current membership period will be automatically credited toward the upgrade. We cannot apply past membership payments to membership upgrades.

You may not downgrade your Subscription Membership, but you may cancel your membership at any time.

Membership Cancellation

You may cancel your membership at any time. To do so, go to the Membership section of your Profile and click 'Cancel Membership.' Note that in order to avoid being charged for your next membership term, you must cancel no less than five (5) days prior to the end of your current membership term.

Membership Refund

If you are not satisfied within 30 days and have not completed any courses, you may request a refund. To do so, please contact a Learning Coach by email, phone, or chat.

Membership Extensions

Sophia does not grant complimentary extensions for memberships. If you find yourself in exceptional circumstances that you believe warrant an extension, we invite you to reach out to us via email at [email protected] and share your situation. Before submitting a request, please be aware that Sophia will not extend memberships due to time lost from unsuccessful verification attempts or previously unused time within a membership period.
