To drop a course, go to your home page and under 'Active Courses,' select 'Drop Course.'
If you re-enroll in the course, you will restart from the beginning.
Please expect up to 7 business days to receive your graded Touchstone assignment. We want to make sure you receive the thorough feedback you deserve.
You are able to retake each Milestone assessment one time. If you would like to retake a Milestone, you can select the 'Retake' button at the top of the Milestone page. Please note: The questions are different on the retake, and only your best Milestone score will be saved.
Sophia courses are self-paced, so the amount of time it takes to complete the course is dependent on the individual. There are some courses that have one or more Touchstone assignments, and each assignment may take up to 7 business days to be graded. Please take this into consideration if you plan to take a course with Touchstones.
Some Sophia courses offer subject matter support beyond what Learning Coaches can provide. The following courses include 10 hours of free tutoring from our partner, Brainfuse. You can drop into a tutoring session 24 hours a day, schedule a convenient appointment, or ask a question offline. Additional tutoring time can be purchased as needed.
There are no deadlines for Sophia courses. However, you will want to keep in mind the ACE renewal dates if you intend to drop a course or if a course becomes inactive. If a course is renewed by ACE during your time taking it, and the course is dropped or goes inactive for any reason, the course will need to be reset from the beginning for you to retake. This is because when a course is renewed by ACE, we often need to make changes to the course to maintain its credit recommendation from them.
To avoid a course automatically becoming inactive, make sure you work on it periodically, as it will be dropped after 180 days of inactivity.

Sophia is not a school, college, or university, therefore, we do not award degrees. That said, each of our courses come with a national credit recommendation from the American Council on Education (ACE). More information about our course-specific ACE recommendations can be found on ACE's official website.
